2026 Executive Committee elections
In early 2026 the community ran an Executive Leadership Nomination process so the Annual General Meeting could elect a full committee in the open. The aim was a transparent vetting of people who were willing to serve, not a closed list.
How nomination worked
Nominees were asked for basic information, a recent photograph, and a short cover letter on why they wanted the role and what they would bring to it. The portal required a Google account so files could be stored for the vetting panel. That process sat ahead of the AGM; it was not itself the vote.
What the AGM decided
- Date: 15 February 2026
- Outcome: an eight-member Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term
- Roles: President, General Secretary, and six directorates (Finance, Policy & Welfare, Sport & Entertainment, Mobilization & PR, Student Affairs — Vice President later fell vacant)
The people now serving are on the Leadership page. Hamza Kyamanywa is President. Joshua Kirabo Ssempungu, who was elected President in February, is recorded as past for February–August 2026. The Vice President seat is vacant.
Legal identity after the vote
The association that committee now serves is Ugandans In South Korea Association (USKA) / 주한 우간다인협회, registered in 2026 as a foreigners’ group, registration number 315-82-85566. Older UCISK wording on the nomination portal is historical and is not the current legal name.
