Executive visit to Daegu and regional handover to Kinene Stuart
On Sunday 26 July 2026, members of the USKA Executive Committee travelled to Daegu to meet the Ugandan community in the region, and to witness the formal handover of the regional representative role from Serunjogi John to Kinene Stuart, popularly known as SK.
The visit continues the association’s programme of regional outreach, which aims to close the distance between the Executive Committee and members living outside Seoul, and to make sure every region has an active representative members can reach directly.
The handover
Kinene Stuart was designated Regional Chairman for Daegu on 9 June 2026, after community members in the region were invited to apply and he stood unopposed. The meeting on 26 July marked the formal handover of the role, with Serunjogi John — who has represented the region and introduced his successor to the section in June — passing on responsibility before the community.
The Executive Committee thanks Serunjogi John for his service to the Daegu section and for the care he took in ensuring an orderly transition. We congratulate Kinene Stuart and ask members in the Daegu region to give him their full support.

They were joined and escorted by community members who travelled from Seoul and Cheonan to attend, alongside the Ugandan community resident in Daegu.
Why regional visits matter
Members outside the capital often carry the same needs as those in Seoul — consular questions, documentation, employment and welfare concerns — with less direct access to the Executive Committee. Regional representatives exist to carry those concerns upward, and these visits are how the Executive stays accountable to them in person rather than at a distance.
