Finally — a friendly showdown! Team Uganda (The Uganda Cranes South Korea) lined up against Les Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a community football friendly that brought African diaspora teams together on Korean soil.

Kick-off: 15:00. Venue: 경기도 수원시 권선구 고색동 917 (Gosaek-dong 917, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do). Families, friends and fans were welcome to cheer the Cranes in the red, black and yellow.

Who we are on the pitch: The Uganda Cranes South Korea is the football side linked to USKA’s Sport & Entertainment work — training sessions, friendlies and representation at tournaments such as KAFCON (Korea Africa Cup of Nations). The programme is led under the Directorate of Sport & Entertainment, with coaching and squad organisation from dedicated volunteers in the community.

Why friendlies matter: Matches like this build match fitness, give newer players minutes, and strengthen bonds with other African communities in Korea (including Congolese teams). They sit alongside midweek/weekend trainings and prepare the squad for bigger stages — including KAFCON 2026 in Pyeongtaek later that month.

Opponent: Les Leopards (DR Congo) — a fellow diaspora side bringing skill and competitive spirit. Respect on the pitch, friendship off it: that is the spirit of these community games.
