USKA President nominated for KAFXA African Icon of the Month

June 2026
We are proud to share that Ssempungu Joshua Kirabo, President of the Ugandans in South Korea Association (USKA), has been nominated for the KAFXA 2026 African Icon of the Month award (June 2026).
Joshua holds a Ph.D. in Public Health from Korea University. Before serving as President, he was Head of Development for the association (2023–2025), helping grow engagement among Ugandans living in Korea.
In his nomination statement he highlights uniting students, professionals, workers and families in one supportive community — even without a resident Ugandan embassy in Korea — coordinating with the Mission in Japan while carrying out much of the day-to-day community work independently. With the Executive team, USKA creates opportunities for members, promotes cultural exchange, and supports people through hardship, bereavement, personal challenges and legal difficulties.
How to support: encourage friends and community members to vote on the official KAFXA website — https://www.kafxa.org — and follow / tag @kafxawards on Instagram when sharing the flyer (Joshua: @kampalaz_son).
The award ceremony is on 14 June 2026. Nominees are asked to RSVP on the KAFXA website as soon as possible. KAFXA contact: [email protected] · +82 10 9925 6548.
Congratulations, President Joshua — the whole USKA community is with you.
