Our community story: from 2010 to USKA
The Ugandan community in South Korea has been organising since 2010 — promoting goodwill, harmony, unity, and cooperation among Ugandans living, studying, and working here.
In 2017 the predecessor organisation was registered as a non-governmental group at the Yongsan District Tax Office under the name Uganda Community in South Korea (UCISK), registration number 224-82-69936. That registration and legal name are now obsolete.
In 2026 the community re-registered with the Korean Government as a Foreigners’ group under the name Ugandans In South Korea Association (USKA) / 주한 우간다인협회, registration number 315-82-85566. The people, friendships, and many of the traditions continue — under a clear, current legal identity.
Our purpose remains the same: support all Ugandans in their pursuits — culture and integration, welfare, business, study, and positive ties between Uganda and Korea.
